Help Needed With Camper Scholarships

Another amazing week has passed and it has been exciting to see how God continues to change lives at Camp!  This week our honor camper was Dee Dee … she was a returning camper from last year.  Only last year, she needed alot of special attention because of her attitudes and behavior.  When asked about the difference, she said, “After camp last year, I was tired of being bad.  I felt like a totally different person.”  This week it showed, as she demonstrated her love for God in a wonderful and positive way.  This is why we do what we do….scholarship08

Please pray with us for 224 more scholarships be given to meet this summer’s need.  Contributions can be sent to Camp Beechpoint Scholarships, 3212 - 125th Ave., Allegan, MI  49010.

Grand City Show Skiers Celebrate with Campers

July 3rd brought a special way to celebrate Independence Day at Camp Beechpoint. The Grand City Show Skiers provided a spectacular show for the campers, staff, and over 150 guests.

Most of the campers had never seen a water ski show before and some may never see one again. It was very fun and energizing to see the kids’ eyes light up as they saw something so new and different. The kids proved to be a great interactive audience. They were so pumped and having such a good time. Many of the kids asked for autographs, slapped high fives to the performers after their acts, and looked for ways to get a “feel” for the action by trying on ski gloves and checking out equipment.

From high-flying action, to humor, to stylistic doubles and pyramid skiing, it was a great show! Special thanks go out to Chad Van Horn of “The Real Estate Firm” for bringing this fun to the camp and sponsoring the show.

Please Pray for our Campers

The following are a couple of excerpts from notes from campers this week:

Thank you for teaching us about God.  I learned a lot about Him.  Thank you David for helping me ride a horse.  The best part I liked here is going swimming and making new friends.” -Klarissa

I loved this camp a lot.  I had a lot of fun.  I loved the swimming the most.  I wish I could come back next year.  I learned that the key to success was Jesus.  I also learned it is different to know something in your head than in your heart.” -Krista

I would like to thank you for letting me come to Camp Beechpoint. I had a lot of fun and I learn much about God.  The canoe and bike trip was the best.  I hope I can come back next year.”  - Marshon

Gibson City Bible Church Gives Camp a Boost

Twenty college students made a great impact this week!  They served as lifeguards, wranglers, roofers, stainers, dining room helpers, actors, vocalists, and assistant team leaders (counselors).  What a blessing!  Pastor Dave Hohulin also provided some gospel presentations utilizing fun illusions.

A big thank you to this crew, from Illinois, as they gave the campers a week of their summer!  We are looking forward to other groups from Nebraska and Michigan helping us in the sessions to come.  It is not too early to start planning for next summer…. Do you have a group that would like to come to serve?  We’d love to have you.

Summer 2008 - “Secret to Success”

Your child will want to be a part of another great summer of go-cart riding, tubing, swimming, zip-lining, horseback riding, and ultimate learning about the Secret to Success is kicking off! In addition to all of the activities, the kids will have fun learning Bible lessons from the life of Joseph. What were the secrets to his success?

After two weeks of intensive training, the summer staff will welcome the Day Campers (June 9-13 , ages 6-13) and then will be ready for seven one-week sessions of resident camp for children ages 8-14 (sessions are from Sunday evening to Friday evening). We still have some space available, but you’ll need to get registered soon. We hope to see your camper this summer!

For registration information, contact Sonya at 800-991-CAMP or camp[at]beechpoint.com.
